July 25, 2008 - 11:19 pm

Ah Aruba, one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to vacation in the Caribbean with long gleaming white sandy beaches and water activities to satisfy the appetite of the most enthusiastic beach vacation aficionado.

Whether your craving is for some of the best windsurfing in the world, scuba diving amongst the most beautiful and colorful coral reefs you can imagine, dining on fine cuisine in the fabulous upscale restaurants, or dancing the night away in any of the many lively nightclubs, Aruba aspires to be your next Caribbean vacation get-a-way.

If it’s the beach you seek, you’ll want to check out Aruba’s Northwest coast with two distinctively different resort areas to choose from depending on your taste and style.  The first with quaint unobtrusive style buildings that blend and compliment the surrounding landscape without being over-bearing or taking away from the natural beauty surrounding them.  The second offer more stylish high-rise resorts providing amazing sunset views over the northwestern island and the sparkling surrounding waters of the Caribbean.  With glorious beaches the Eagle and Palm, much affronted with a pedestrian walkway, offer parasailing, glass-bottom boat rides and trips aboard the submarine Atlantis.  Or you can enjoy a fast and furious, turbo-charged boat ride over the smooth waters of both the Eagle and Palm beaches.

Scuba diving abounds in the gloriously translucent waters with beautifully colored coral reefs and notable ship wrecks to enjoy and photograph.  One of the most well-known ship wrecks, the Antilla, sank during World War II and is the largest wreck in the Caribbean and provides fantastic diving opportunities for every enthusiast.

If golfing is your game, take a swing at Tierra del Sol, an 18-hole championship golf course designed by the notable Robert Trent Jones II, or if you prefer a shorter game have a go at the nine-hole Divi Links near Oranjestad.

Aruba is renowned for its arid and temperate interior and countryside (or Cunuku) and famous rock formations at both Casibari and Ayo.  There are bus tours available but visitors can also tour the cunuku in a convoy of Range Rovers or ATV’s for the more adventurous.  Aruba is by far one of the most extraordinary Caribbean vacation destinations.  Direct flights can be taken from the UK with First Choice from Gatwick from May-October.  KLM and MartinAir fly from Amsterdam, and there are flights from numerous US cities to the Queen Beatrix International Airport located just south of the capital Oranjestad.

Come and discover the beauty of Aruba and escape to a colorful world away from your own.
